Just before my daughters 8th birthday last year we found out she has dyslexia. We had our suspicions things like she would say to us ‘I am the dumbest in the class’ or ‘the worst at reading’. Luckily we have some people in our circle of friends who were experts in dyslexia so we got their advice.

Most people don’t know that dyslexia effects around 1 in 6 people and is genetic, so if it’s in your family there is a high likelihood of it getting passed to kids.

People out there might be discovering now that their kids are struggling more than you thought. More than teachers realised. Realising how little they can read, spelling that just doesn’t make sense. Getting sounds wrong like b and d in particular.
