If you are interested in a skilled visa, you’ll need to know how many points you can claim. One of the categories you get points in is based on your years of overseas work experience.

You’ll get points for your experience in skilled employment in the occupation you are applying for in two categories – experience within Australia and experience overseas. Importantly, this is considered within the last 10 years, so your work experience must be recent.

If you are interested in a skilled visa, you’ll need to know how many points you can claim. One of the categories you get points in is based on your English test score.

You need a minimum of a ‘Competent’ English test result in order to be eligible to submit an EOI for a skilled visa (subclasses 189, 190 and 491). However, this grants you 0 points, so you’ll need a higher English score to receive any points for this. We’ve outlined how many points can be claimed depending on the result of your English test.
