Are you looking for a job? Is your resume ATS friendly?
AHA ... is your mind now wondering 'What is ATS?"
Losing a job and financial security is one of the major stressors our clients experience at the moment. Building confidence, self-care and learning grounding and focusing skills are very important in these situations. But to be successful in obtaining a new job we also need to learn how to write our resume- what works and what doesn't. Unfortunately, as we can see from this article, this is not as straightforward as it used to be.
Boring is the new sexy when it comes to resumes. Ensure your resume is ATS friendly by avoiding the following: graphics, icons and symbols, text boxes and side panels, tables and graphs, all lines – horizontal, verticals and underlines, italics and quotation marks, hyperlinks, font size less than 11 points, inconsistent formatting, and photos.
You can still have a second version that is more exciting if you know you will have the opportunity to hand it over in person.
