Don’t make this bathroom renovation mistake.

In this bathroom the water is slowly running out of the shower base instead of draining properly. The issue? Incorrect fall in the shower floor.

For a shower to drain correctly, the floor needs a fall of 1 in 80 towards the waste. If the fall isn’t set properly during construction, water can escape the shower area and cause long term moisture and waterproofing issues.

At YoungConstruct we typically drop the shower base around 40mm, which allows the tiler to screed in the correct fall and ensure water flows exactly where it should.

It’s a small detail that makes a big difference to how your bathroom performs over time.
