Turnbull Government preparing to increase cost of solar by 30% by axing Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.

Federal Liberal and National Party MPs will tomorrow be asked to sign off on a plan to axe the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) and increase the cost of household and small business solar by 30%.

Rod Sims, the Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), today briefed National Party MPs on the recent ACCC report, which recommended axing the SRES by 2021. He will brief Liberal Party MPs tomorrow.

This a very real threat to Australia’s solar industry.
