Book 26
Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
I just finished I Hope This Finds You Well for our Bookclub pick, and we specifically chose it because it was pitched as a comedy-ish, light-hearted corporate read after a streak of heavier books.
The book actually started exactly how I expected: funny, entertaining, and easy to get into. But then it took a very unexpected turn, and suddenly it wasn’t that funny anymore. I think the marketing for this one is a little misleading because the light, comedic vibe disappears pretty quickly.
That said, it’s still a good book overall. I just went into it expecting something completely different from what it actually delivered, which definitely affected my reading experience.
I ended up giving it 3.5 stars ⭐️

2026 Book: 24
Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had the opportunity to receive the audiobook for Read Between the Lies by Jesse Q. Sutanto from the publisher prior to release, and I really enjoyed the narration.
I always enjoy books about authors, books, and the publishing world, and this one definitely kept me listening. Even though I really disliked the main character, I couldn’t stop because I needed to know what was going to happen next.
Did I love the book? Mmm… not really. I found the MC extremely annoying at times. There was so much whining that it occasionally felt like one long pity party.
I know this is an adult book, but parts of it honestly felt very YA to me. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it did make the tone feel a little uneven at times.
What I did really enjoy was the little peek into the publishing world and the process debut authors go through. I actually wish there had been more of that and less time spent inside the main character’s head.
I didn’t love it, but I also couldn’t put it down… and honestly, books that keep you hooked deserve credit for that alone. So this ended up being a solid 3-star read for me
