𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗗𝗔𝗠𝗔 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗔 𝗗𝗔𝗠𝗔

The Goldfields Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) will end on 30 June 2026 and transition to the state-wide Western Australia DAMA (WA DAMA). Employers should prepare for the transition and its workforce planning impacts.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀
📅 30 June 2026 – Goldfields DAMA officially ends
📅 1 July 2026 – applications for endorsement are assessed under the WA DAMA
📅 8 July 2026 – Eligible Goldfields employers can submit new applications under the WA DAMA

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀
• Employers should understand how the transition may affect future recruitment plans
• New endorsement applications are now managed through the WA DAMA framework
• Review occupations, concessions and requirements under the WA DAMA
• Early planning can support workforce needs and minimise delays
• The change supports Western Australia's move towards a state-wide DAMA model and a more consistent approach to workforce shortages
• Similar transitions to state-wide DAMAs may occur as Heads of Agreement approach expiry
