We hear a lot about unconscious bias, especially concerning the workplace. But what exactly is it? Unconscious or implicit biases are learned assumptions, beliefs, or attitudes that we aren’t consciously aware of.

Bias shows up in the workplace in many forms. The most common ones are:

- Gender bias
- Age bias
- Name bias
- Confirmation bias
- Recency bias
- Similarity bias

Today for International Women’s Day I ask my community to challenge your own unconscious bias and to stand up, speak out and call out all bias when you see it.
