Dylan Reid is an emerging young composer, producer and musician, eager to make a name for himself in the scene. o. His mother (a heavy metal bassist) and father (a classical guitarist) encouraged him to pursue his passion for music further, which proved integral to his development as a musician. At age 14, Dylan discovered the world of experimental electronic music. Through countless hours of exploration in the area, he began to produce and record music from the comfort of his own bedroom. In 2017, Dylan joined his first band, 'Disgruntled Architect'. This introduced him to a whole other world of music, specifically middle eastern traditional folk music (a.k.a. This band would later go on to play at iconic venues and events, such as 'Hamer Hall' and 'St Kilda Festival', as well as release two singles from their debut album. 'Disgruntled Architect' has been on the back burner for the last 2 years, but they are set to make a comeback in mid-2022. In 2020, Dylan began studying a 'Bachelor of Applied Music: Specialising in Composition' at Box Hill Institute. This would introduce him to the world of film scoring, as well as Minimalism. He also began working on his latest project, 'West End', a combination of Electronica and IDM. He released his debut album, 'The Untamed Mind Will Wander' in late 2021 on all major streaming platforms. Currently, Dylan is working on several projects simultaneously. He is in the midst of another full-length album under his pseudonym 'West End', as well as a solo piano album under his own name. He is also working on numerous short films and animations, as well as two pieces for the National Institute of Circus Arts.
