This week in Parliament I spoke on my visit with The Gums Landcare Group and their efforts in preserving the beautiful area of our community!

It was so lovely to host the Silver Saints from Athelstone at Parliament House with the Member for Morialta, Matthew Marozzi, MP this afternoon! 🏛️

It was fantastic to show them around, answer their questions, and chat about the community.

Thanks for visiting!!

Today I visited Menz FruChocs for the launch of their partnership with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and their important new campaign, Buy the Pack, Have the Chat!

For every blue pack of FruChocs sold, Menz will donate $1 to Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia helping to support Australians affected by prostate cancer while encouraging more conversations about men’s health.

It was wonderful to meet Phil and Richard Sims from the Menz family and hear from Will at PCFA about his personal experience with prostate cancer. His story was a powerful reminder of the importance of awareness, early detection and having those sometimes difficult conversations with the people we care about.

I obviously couldn’t resist picking up a few bags to support the cause. If you’re a FruChoc fan, grab a blue bag, support a great cause and remember to have the chat. 💙🍫

I had a fantastic time with The Landcare Group on World Environment Day! 🌿🌏

I was lucky enough to be shown around our magnificent Gums while learning about the incredible work this dedicated group is doing to protect and restore our local environment. 💚

We started the day with a Welcome to Country from Uncle Ivan Tiwu Copely, explored the fascinating world of fungi 🍄, learned about erosion mitigation projects along Third Creek, and discovered the important role invertebrates play in healthy ecosystems 🐞.

I even got to help add a few pieces to the bee hotel 🐝🏨

The Landcare Group has been caring for the Gums for the past 10 years, and our community is so fortunate to have such passionate volunteers looking after this special place. Thank you for everything you do! 🌱👏

Thanks, Minister!!! 🥹

Jenn Roberts’ maiden speech was a powerful reflection on the journey that brought her from Texas to South Australia.

She spoke of family, hard work and the simple values passed down by her grandfather: honesty, respect, compassion and always doing the right thing.

From teaching students with diverse learning needs, to supporting vulnerable members of her community, to making Adelaide home with her family, Jenn’s story has been defined by service and a desire to help others.

Her message was clear: we diminish ourselves when we reduce people to rhetoric. Politics is about people, listening, and working together to make life better for the community we serve.

We are grateful to have you with us, Jenn 🙏

It was a 🥶 start to the day, but Matthew and I were out bright and early at Paradise Interchange, greeting commuters with a smile.

It was such a good opportunity to chat with locals and share some of the highlights of our brand new State Budget, especially the measures we’re delivering to help ease cost-of-living pressures for South Australians!

It was great to meet with The Campbelltown Netball & Tennis Club tonight to discuss Council’s proposed design for a new clubroom and to discuss the overdue funding of a desperately-needed resurfacing! 👟

A major upgrade at this fantastic local club will make a real difference to all of the players, families, and to all of our local netball community, and I’ll continue fighting for these much-needed improvements! 🎾

Spent time today at the San Giorgio La Molara Club for their monthly community lunch! 💚🤍❤️

A huge thank you to Josie for all her work putting on the lunch and for making me feel so welcome!

Thank you as well to all of the other volunteers but especially to Tony who is a pro in the kitchen, the club’s president, Johnathan, and to Bo for taking some great pics!

The sense of community in this group is something really special and it’s always so lovely seeing everyone enjoying themselves, catching up with friends, sharing a meal, and of course filling the dance floor! 💃🏼
