This is George.
George came to me (well his mother did) and asked if I could help George.
George had ambitions to join the Navy but unfortunately, he wasn't reaching the markers required to gain entry, especially the beep test.
So basically I devised a program to first help him with his specific goal of getting to the beep test mark required.
The thing I found with George was that one of the the real things that was holding him back was not just physical but mental.
To be honest, I could see that George had an inner determination to succeed, but he just didn't realise his potential and what he could achieve.
I worked on helping him get physically better, but I also needed to help George understand his potential and what he could do. I challenged George but only to what he was actually capable of, even though he doubted what he could actually do.
In short, the great news George achieved his goal and is now on the mainland training in the Navy.
In this video that George and his mum are very kind with words, but to be honest, the credit is to George. He could have given up but he didn't and he worked hard, was diligent with his training and In front of me I could see his confidence and inner belief grow.
Unfortunately, George's story, fears, lack of confidence, and self-belief are very common. I do want George's story to inspire others who may have a goal to get fitter and improve their health for their own personal outcomes.
The one thing I said to George right from the start and I believe this can relate to everyone who has doubts.
"It doesn't matter where you start your journey, be proud that you're starting and believe in the inner strength and determination that you have. You are stronger than you think and if you keep focused on your goal you will achieve it"

🌿 Understanding the Role of the Liver in Weight Loss 🌿

I know you have been waiting for it. The 4th strategy to help lose some kilo's.

The liver, an incredibly important organ, plays a vital role in the body's metabolism and the breakdown of fats. However, its functions extend beyond that. One crucial task performed by the liver is the packaging and excretion of toxins stored primarily in fat cells throughout the body. This interconnection between toxins, fat cells, and weight loss has significant implications.

When an individual loses weight through the burning or breakdown of fat, the liver is responsible for encapsulating the toxins previously stored in those fat cells. It then sends these toxins to the gallbladder for eventual elimination from the body. However, if the liver lacks the necessary resources to package the toxins effectively or is overworked due to an existing high toxic load, the toxins may not be properly excreted.

Given that toxins are primarily stored in fat cells, the body responds by generating more fat to effectively package and store the excess toxins. In simple terms, if the body cannot effectively eliminate toxins, it compensates by increasing the size of the container, leading to weight gain.

Lowering the body's toxic burden and providing gentle support to the liver can have a profound impact on facilitating weight loss. By adopting practices that minimize exposure to toxins and making healthier choices in cleaning and personal care products, as well as opting for whole foods over processed ones, individuals can help alleviate the burden on the liver and improve their chances of successful weight management.

It's crucial to prioritise a holistic approach to health that considers not only calorie intake and exercise but also the body's detoxification processes. By supporting liver health and minimizing toxic exposure, we can create an environment that promotes sustainable weight loss and overall well-being.
