Customers saying lovely things about your business, products, or service create far more effective marketing than anything you say.

I spent today writing a case study for an ecommerce software integration company.

And by the end of it, I wanted to open an ecommerce store just so I could work with them😉

I’m sold!

By the gushing of their customer (which I’ve recorded in an interview).

This company has delivered far in excess of the expectation. And they’ve demonstrated integrity and honesty in the relationship.

And all of this comes from a credible source, which makes it SUPER POWERFUL!

The lesson.

• Get those testimonials in a prominent place on your website.

• Reply to every customer compliment (and complaint) on social media.

• And, if it fits your business, create case studies outlining the journey with your customer, from problem to solution to amazing result.

Demonstrating how your service/product solved a problem for a client is a great way to showcase the effectiveness of your offering.

Are you sharing your customer love?

When you create to strategy, your content goes from being a tiny voice in a sea of voices to a megaphone speaking to an engaged audience who are soaking up your every word.

Heaps more effective.

But how do you create a strategy that will deliver what you want?

Just follow these 7 steps:

Set your goals – Do you want to generate leads, make sales, increase brand awareness/exposure, develop a loyal following, increase traffic to your website, boost engagement… Whatever your goal, establish it at the outset and let it both guide you and establish your KPI’s.

Research your audience/target customers – Who are they, where do they consume SM, when are they browsing, how do they consume content, and what format they prefer… The more you know your target audience, the greater your chance of creating content they’ll love.

Decide which platform/s - Choose based on your target customer research, considering the type of SM content that aligns with your business, eg. images, videos, text.

Set a budget based on predicted ROI – Focus on one or two platforms for maximum impact. Then decide how much you will spend based on your goals and the return on investment. Choose which posts you will promote but be flexible enough to change based on real results ie. If you find a particular type of post does well, consider promoting more posts like this one.

Create a content calendar – How many posts per day/week/month, which platforms, what times and the focus of that content. Content can be a mix of educational, inspirational, promotional, funny, show the people behind the brand, highlight new products, discuss relevant news topics, holidays/celebrations, etc. Remember, relevance and times to post depend on your target audience (and your research – see above/previous).

Create – Start putting ideas into your content calendar as soon as possible. Use a scheduling tool to make life easier. And create to serve your audience.

Measure and analyse results – Don’t forget to measure and analyse your results and be ready to change things as the results indicate.

Let me know if you need a hand with creating a SM strategy that will achieve your desired results.

How to create a website that converts browsers into buyers.

Today is week #3, and it involves an acronym that will be familiar…

Yep, it’s SEO.

Time to make Google love you.

Because you can’t convert if your customers can’t find you.

But SEO doesn’t have to stand for Sorry, Experts Only.

You can do some things to please the Google Gods that aren’t too techy.

Here’s a list to get you started:

Keywords – Map out a keyword strategy for each page and use these keywords naturally in the content on that page and your Page Titles, Meta Descriptions, Subheadings, Images and URL’s. Of course, there’s a lot more to keywords than this, but there’s a word limit on an IG post 😉

Content – Write with your audience in mind first, naturally weaving in keywords to answer your target customers' search queries.

User Experience (UX) – Consider the user experience of your site, such as quick loading times and a site optimised for mobile devices.

Optimise images for SEO – Use those keywords in the Alt text (alternative text) for your images.

Link Building – Google doesn’t want you to be a lone ranger, cut off from all the other websites out there. That’s why it’s important to have links to other sites and within your site pages. It shows your site is legit. Link building takes time and strategy but increases your your credibility and improves your SEO ranking.

Use local keywords - If your customers are local, use location-specific words in your keywords, such as city or state. It’s easier to rank for location-specific keywords and it’s often how customers search.

The technical stuff – At a minimum, set up your Google Business Profile and Google Search Console. But there are heaps of other free and paid SEO tools out there to help you achieve your SEO goals.

Let me know if you need a hand 😊
