Walking Witnesses…
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." – Acts 1:8.

While attending a university in London, Mahatma Gandhi became almost convinced that the Christian religion was the one true, supernatural religion in the world.
Upon graduation, and still seeking evidence that would make him a committed Christian, young Gandhi accepted employment in East Africa and for seven months lived in the home of a family who were members of a Christian church.
But as the months passed and he saw the casualness of their attitude toward the cause of God, heard them complain when they were called upon to make a sacrifice for the kingdom of God, and sensed their general religious apathy.
Gandhi's interest turned to disappointment. He said, “No, it is not the one true, supernatural religion I had hoped to find. Indeed, a good religion but just one more of the many religions in the world.”

Let us remember that as children of God we are not called to do witnessing but to be Christ's witnesses. Wherever we are, wherever we go, whatever we do – in all circumstances at all times we are being witnesses of Christ.
The following words were on a poster in the office at a Christian college”
“The living truth is what I long to see,
I cannot live on what used to be,
So close your Bible and show me how
The Christ you talk about is living now.”

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them – Romans 8:28

A story is told about a town where only Ducks lived.
Every Sunday the ducks would waddle out of their houses and waddle down Main Street to their church. They waddled into the sanctuary and squatted in their proper pews. The duck choir waddled in and took its place, then the duck minister came forward and opened the duck Bible.
He read to them and they all shouted AMEN after each proclamation:
"Ducks! God has given you wings! - Amen
With wings you can fly! - Amen
With wings you can mount up and soar like eagles - Amen
No walls can confine you! - Amen
No fence can hold you! - Amen
You have wings. God has given you wings and you can fly like birds" - Amen
All the ducks shouted "AMEN!"...and they all waddled home.

Does this sound too much like us? We could fly but we prefer to waddle.
I wonder how much we could do for Christ if we really put our minds, hearts and souls into it? We tend to do as little as possible or just enough to "get by" rather than overdo these things. We want to reserve ourselves and only for ourselves, rather than give ourselves in service.
Wayne Smith was right when it comes to Christian service. "I'd rather have zeal without knowledge." In other words, I'd rather do something for Christ even if it's not perfect.
Be encouraged, be strong and never let this world system get you worried or ashamed of who you are. If Jesus is on your side, then why would you let anyone make you feel unworthy or not well equipped to serve and be a witness unto the Lord.
"God does not call the equipped, He equips the called". All we have to say is ‘AMEN’ and DO IT for Christ."
Stay Blessed!
