Another day another happy customer!
was out of luck - her Insta acct with thousands of followers had been knocked off the air with no access to recovery mail.
With the help of app support teams we got her back on the air with extra security and peace of mind (and a bit of background advice from while we were at it.)

Ever wondered what the inside of a 2012-series Pro looks like?
They are a beautifully assembled device. With the battery removed, clockwise from the top: track pad, 2.5” 750Gb hard drive, DVD drive, power button/speaker assembly, cooling fan, motherboard, battery cavity. RAM chips can be seen immediately below the track pad in the top centre of the motherboard.

That sinking feeling when you realise that there is a problem with the disk drive or memory card with your precious memories or vital work/study files... 🥺
Sometimes, storage devices simply fail. Often there are warning signs leading up to it. These can include a failure when reading or writing information, repetitive mechanical noises, reduced speed or your computer not always recognising when an external drive is plugged in.
Mechanical drives - like shoes, car brake pads and kitchen appliances - wear down over time. Solid state drives and USB sticks are also prone to failure.
The best move is to always keep at least one other copy of your data - say, a full copy of an external disc or duplication of your files - in a secure, cool, dry location. Use cloud storage where possible.
If your drive is failing, immediately copy all that you can from it. This applies to PCs, Macs, camera cards, gaming platforms, etc.
If it is suffering from advanced issues, then data and files *may* be able to be retrieved off them using specialist tools... but don’t leave it too late.
In these images - a diagnostic screen warning of the imminent failure of a 1Tb external drive, and Lloydtech running a recovery on two separate drives in an attempt to retrieve data from them.
