What a fantastic day celebrating one of the Hampton Rovers Football Club’s great traditions.

On Saturday, close to 90 members, sponsors, past players and supporters gathered inside the Wright-Scarlett Pavilion as we officially celebrated our 250th consecutive Home Game Luncheon, although after digging into the club’s history, we suspect the true number may actually be much higher!

A huge thank you to former president Steve “Slug” Johnston for sharing stories from the early days of the lunches, when volunteers made it all happen, and to Luke Richardson from As Simple As That Catering, who continues to uphold the tradition with outstanding meals every home game, and of course our current president and MC, Gary Nash.

It was a wonderful reminder that our Home Game Luncheon is about so much more than great food. For generations, it has brought the Rovers community together to celebrate our club, catch up with old friends and create lasting memories.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to mark the occasion, and to all the volunteers, committee members, caterers and supporters who have helped keep this incredible tradition alive over the years.
