Last school holidays we tried this with a few of Lulu's friends, and they had the BEST time.

The challenge was simple:

💛 $30 budget
💛 Stick to the list
💛 Buy things you actually want
💛 Be respectful of other shoppers and the Kmart staff
💛 Have fun!

I'm not a big believer in buying things just for the sake of buying them, so I made it clear they didn't have to spend the whole $30. The idea was to choose things they'd genuinely use or love.

Afterwards we all came home and they did a little show-and-tell of what they'd found, and it ended up being such a fun afternoon.

If you're looking for something to do these school holidays, give it a go! Kids, tweens, teens... and let's be honest, plenty of adults love wandering around Kmart too. 😆

I'll pop the editable template in the comments so you can make it your own. Change the budget, swap out the categories, or even change the heading from School Holiday Challenge to Sophie's Birthday Challenge (or whatever suits!). I think it'd make a really fun birthday party activity too. 💛
