✨ 5 MYTHS ABOUT PILATES ✨

If you’ve ever felt unsure about what Pilates actually is or whether it’s right for you, you’re not alone. There are a lot of assumptions out there, especially if you’ve never tried it before!

So let’s break down a few of the most common myths about Pilates ⬇️

1. “I’m not flexible enough to do Pilates”
You don’t need to be bendy to begin. Pilates helps build mobility and flexibility over time — safely, gradually, and with control. Stiff hips? Tight shoulders? Pilates can help.

2. “I won’t get a proper workout”
Pilates can be hard and fast or slow and smooth, it works the deep postural and stabilising muscles that traditional workouts often skip. You’ll feel strong, supported throughout the movements with our physiotherapy led classes — and yes, a little bit sore after a workout.

3. “It’s just about core and abs”
Pilates does build core strength — but that’s just the start. We target the whole body: glutes, shoulders, hips, back. It’s about moving better everywhere.

4. “I need to be fit before I start”
Nope — there is no level of fitness required! Whether you’re returning from injury, new to exercise, prenatal, postpartum or just feeling uncoordinated, we’ll guide you every step of the way. With time your fitness, strength and coordination will improve!
