Makuru season brings some chilly evenings so I've been exploring art and craft that's a bit more cosy to create, like drawing.
I've swapped the paints out for coloured pencils and made some good progress this last week turning my back momentarily on abstract to attempt more of a realism approach.... just to see if I can!✨️😂
Perfect weather to embrace the world of mushrooms and fungi. The assortment of form and colour provides neverending wonderment and inspiration. 🍄
Had a go at drawing from a reference photo (thankyou to Laura Lang from Free Reference Photos to Use for Artists fb group) ... It's recognisable as a turtle so reckon that's a win!😆
Would love to see or hear about any of your creative projects if you're feeling brave enough to share. It's all about the process and the learning along the way.🎨
Have a beautiful Saturday people.🥰

Bit of intuitive abstract art using watercolours on bookmarks. I just love this Schmincke palette and how the colours mix and behave.❤️❤️❤️
Decided the colours would look great on my journal. Experimented using clear tar gel to adhere and protect the artwork, assumed it would reactivate the watercolours.😬
Was a pleasant surprise to discover my artwork kept its form, and I love the glossy textured finish of the tar gel. 😁 Yay to happy surprises! 👏
