This was after working in a number of different workshops with a number of different employers all who had different goals. Some goals were all about earning money and becoming rich. Some were about problem solving and relishing in the fact their workshop was the one to sort out other techs' unsolvable issues. And others were solely about customer service and ensuring their customers were always h
appy and looked after. Our goal, is to keep your car on the road. Yes, we do earn money to pay our bills and feed our families by what we do, however we do everything we can to do this as honestly as possible. In 2020 when COVID struck and many people were unable to travel either overseas, or even interstate, the automotive industry was put under heavy pressure. The immediate answer was to employ more staff and expand to keep up with demand. A great idea, but the same idea was had by many. Soon there weren't even ordinary unskilled techs available. This stretched every existing workshop and mechanic forcing many to work ridiculous hours each week. Not to make money. To keep their customer's vehicles on the road. Our answer was to invest in a second van and second mechanic. Unfortunately this worked only temporarily and we quickly fell back to a position where we booked close to 14 days ahead again. The difficulty in securing a reputable technician was insane and we required a more permanent solution. On the 1st of September 2021, Nina and I opened our workshop on Dixon Road East Rockingham with the help of our Assistant Manager Cameron and staff Dan and Zac. Our hope is to provide a more reliable and prompt service to our customers to meet their daily requirements. Whilst we can live without cars, time is short, and most would agree, our car is one of "Can't do without" possessions. Our job is to do what we can to keep it on the road and in as safe a condition as possible. We struggled to provide this service whilst mobile, hence our migration into a workshop. Our wait time has dropped and our variety of work has increased. There were many things too time consuming and therefore expensive to perform when working on the ground that we can now complete working with hoists and our additional equipment. Unfortunately with staffing restraints, we are not currently able to offer the same mobile service as we have in the past. We are extremely conscious that our customers helped us grow into the company we have become and do not wish to brush them aside. To combat this, we have decided to trial a pick up and delivery service to our surrounding suburbs for those who are unable to bring their vehicles to us for servicing. This will depend on how many collections we can offer per day, and will vary day to day, however we will do what we can to accommodate our customers.
