In honour of International Women’s Day, we thought we’d celebrate something rather special…

At Darwin Bridge Club, all nine members of the committee are women.

Yes… apparently we run the club and the table. 😉

Keeper of minutes, wisdom, and occasionally patience.

Lisa Hambour – Treasurer ♦️
Guardian of the numbers and the financial sanity of the club.

Cherie Burns – Assistant Secretary ♣️
Helping keep the admin wheels turning smoothly.

Kristina Hewer – Provedore 🍰
Ensuring no bridge player ever has to face a difficult contract on an empty stomach.

Gill Brearley – Masterpoints & Tournaments Manager 🏆
Making sure your triumphs (and occasional disasters) are officially recorded.

Helen Summers – NTBA Delegate 🌏
Representing our club at Territory level and keeping us connected.

Jacqueline O’Reilly – Tech Guru 💻
The wizard behind the screens who keeps the technology behaving (mostly).

Angela Yeardley – Committee Member 🇬🇧
Providing perfectly timed dry British humour and quick wit, especially when someone’s just gone down three.

These amazing women volunteer their time to keep our club running, welcoming, and full of laughter — because bridge isn’t just about cards, it’s about community.

🎉♠️ Monday Champs Crowned! ♥️🎉

What a cracking session at the club! Cards were flying, contracts were tested, and the competitive spirit was alive and well.

Brilliant teamwork, sharp bidding, and some seriously polished card play from both pairs. 👏 You made it look easy (we know it wasn’t!).

To everyone who came along — thank you for bringing the energy, the laughs, and the good sportsmanship that makes our Monday sessions such a pleasure.
