At Pestlinc, we always try to work smarter, not harder… but we’re definitely not afraid to work hard and get dirty when required! 💪🐜

This setup made life a lot easier while completing inspections and pest control treatments across a large unit complex — with 10+ units a day, there’s a lot of gear and walking involved. Using this trolley helped save our arms, legs, and shoulders from unnecessary strain, reducing the chance of injury and leaving us with more energy to focus on doing the job properly for our clients.

Sometimes the simple ideas make the biggest difference! 👌

⚡️ Why do termites love power points & pipe areas? 🐜

It might sound strange, but these spots can be the perfect environment for termites to move in.

The photos below show two key attractors:
💧 Moisture from plumbing or leaks
🔥 Warmth from electrical outlets

Together, this creates a cosy, humid space where termites can thrive—and even establish a nest (bivouac) inside your walls without you knowing.

🚨 In this case, the power actually had to be turned off to the area, as the termites were shorting the electrical circuit—a serious safety risk on top of the damage they cause.

These hidden areas are exactly why regular termite inspections are so important—what you can’t see can cause serious damage.

If something seems off (or even if it doesn’t), it’s always worth getting it checked 👌

🚨 A real reminder why Annual Termite Inspections matter 🚨

Today we attended an emergency call after a tenant reported power issues ⚡
An electrician attended first… and discovered termites coming through a power socket 😳

Once onsite, we confirmed activity inside the wall cavities (as shown in the video), but it didn’t stop there…

We then checked the subfloor and found a large mud lead running up the block wall into the home 🐜

Here’s the kicker 👇
This property is built with steel posts and metal floor joists — something many people think means they’re safe from termites.

❌ Unfortunately, termites don’t need to eat steel… they just go around it.

👉 This mud lead would have likely been picked up during a routine annual termite inspection
👉 Early detection could have prevented most of the damage inside the home

🏡 Annual termite inspections are your first line of defence
Don’t wait for signs like this — by then, the damage is already done.

📞 If you’re due (or overdue), now’s the time to book in and stay protected.

🐜 Termite Mud Leads – What to Look For!

Termites can build mud leads up external slabs, brickwork, and walls surprisingly fast—sometimes in a matter of days! These mud tunnels protect them as they travel between the ground and your home… and they’re often one of the first visible warning signs of activity.

👉 That’s why we always recommend doing a quick walk around your home regularly in between your annual termite inspections. Keep an eye out for any unusual mud trails, especially along edges of slabs, weep holes, and brickwork.

At Pestlinc, even when we’re onsite for something completely different, we’re always keeping a vigilant eye out for termite activity or risk areas—because protecting your home is always our priority.

If you spot something that doesn’t look right, don’t ignore it—reach out and we’ll take a look 👍
