Another day, another clutch done right!

We had a customer roll in with their Scirocco struggling to grab gears properly – slipping clutch, poor engagement, and that all-too-familiar burnt smell.

After a full inspection, it was clear the manual clutch had done its time. We got stuck in and replaced it with a fresh setup, restoring smooth gear changes and that crisp driving feel these cars are known for.

Now it’s back on the road driving like it should – tight, responsive, and ready to go.

A customer’s Volkswagen Golf came into Euro-Aus Performance this week with a common but frustrating issue — harsh shifting, warning lights, and the gearbox going into limp mode.

After running a full diagnostic scan and checking the transmission data, the culprit became clear: the DSG mechatronic unit had failed.

For those who don’t know, the mechatronic is the “brain” of the DSG gearbox. It controls the hydraulic pressure, clutch engagement, and gear changes. When it starts to fail, the car can feel like it has a mind of its own — delayed shifts, jolting into gear, or refusing to select gears at all.

Once the fault was confirmed, we carefully removed the faulty mechatronic unit. A new replacement unit was installed, along with fresh DSG fluid and filter to ensure everything runs smoothly.

After installation, the gearbox control unit was coded and adapted using specialist diagnostic equipment. This step is critical so the transmission can relearn clutch engagement and shifting points.

The result?
A smooth-shifting Golf that drives exactly how a DSG should — quick, precise, and responsive.
