Meet Julie – Owner of Angelic Inspirations

Hello, my name is Julie & I am the proud owner of our gorgeous little bridal boutique, Angelic Inspirations. I am 57 y.o, Mum of two daughters & wife to a ridiculously supportive husband, Matthew. I fondly describe the purchase of Angelic Inspirations as the best midlife crisis I have ever had!

At the time the business was advertised, I was on maternity leave from a high-pressure consultancy career & looking for a change. I happened to stumble across the advertisement & began thinking, ‘What if...?’

With two littlies under 2, I knew I didn’t want to go back into the corporate world, & I had always wanted to work for myself. The shop was local to me & had real sentimental value – I’d bought my own wedding dress there 20 years ago. I took the plunge & bought the shop, telling myself I would give it a red-hot crack for 5 years then reassess. We are now in our 14th year of operation & I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER

Owning my own bridal boutique is a dream come true. I have not once regretted the decision to go into business for myself. It has been tough at times, frustrating, feeling like I am wasting time & effort on things that perhaps were ineffective but that has all led to us growing. We have grown into one of the most experienced, reputable & award-winning bridal shops in the Canberra region. I'm so incredibly grateful for all the beautiful clients/brides voting us as the #1 Bridal Boutique in the Canberra area for 8years in a row in the Australian Wedding Industry Awards.

Our quaint, unpretentious boutique is designed to make our customers feel comfortable, welcome & the warm atmosphere around the Federation Square village is something our customers often comment on. How lovely it is for them to be able to make a day of it, with coffee next door & lots of lovely gift stores nearby.

The best part of this business (& sometimes the most challenging) is that every bride/client that walks through our doors is completely unique. Different styles, budgets, personalities, needs, visions & expectations. I genuinely try my absolute best to help each person feel comfortable, supported & excited through the process.
