Scale or detail alone are hard to execute well, put them together and you have a proper challenge on your hands. This project challenged the status quo for housing construction methodology. Given the scale and building type, we adopted a more commercial approach in where we used precast concrete, concrete horizontal conventional slabs, Dincel and triple glazed commercial windows. This had to be brought together to a level of precision and detail which still looked ‘pretty’ with the brutalist concrete construction.

Design is subjective, but the building logic/methodology is objective with such projects. It also demonstrates the possibilities of using commercial construction methodologies in commercially sized residential homes when required.
