Hailing from Canberra, their heavy but hilarious approach has made them an enigma in the local scene. Formed by members Ben and Rheece in 2020, Chain Tombstone became a much needed creative outlet for the two multi-instrumentalists during the COVID-19 pandemic. They debuted their lead single ‘Steel Chair Lobotomy’ to great interest from their fanbase. With fans wanting more, Chain Tombstone contin
ued to write, record and produce music. Their first album, a twelve track death metal album, ‘Circus of Gore’ dropped to great acclaim from fans in early 2021. The album title was inspired by a composition Rheece had created nearly a decade beforehand. They also featured a cover of 'Untouched' by The Veronicas, an iconic remake reminiscent of the Punk Goes Pop era. With serious titles meeting not so serious lyrics, the band took the new songs to the stage. In mid 2021, Chain Tombstone held their album launch at The Basement, nearly selling out the show and featuring support from local acts AtrocitA and Black Heart. Following this success, they headlined Cancervive, helping raise much needed funds for The Cancer Council Australia. After having such a fantastic twelve months, the band have released their follow up to Circus of Gore, a new album titled ‘Realm of Pain’. featuring the singles 'Pigbat' and 'Pit of Barbed Wire'. Marking this as their second album released this year.
