Part time - Town Planner Wanted
Devcert, a progressive and professional Building Certification and Development Consultancy operating throughout Queensland is currently seeking a part-time Senior Town Planner.
This is a flexible position and you are able to work from home and during school hours only.
The applicant will ideally have relevant experience experience in local government, town planning consultancy, or a development organisation and hold tertiary qualifications in town planning recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).

Key responsibilities include:
Assess building applications for compliance with local town planning requirements.
Provision of professional advice on town planning matters to external clients.Ensure town planning compliance for all building certification applications.
Preparation, management and facilitation of development applications in accordance with planning legislation timeframes.
Work closely with council assessment managers and clients to achieve positive outcomes.
Desirable:
Knowledge of the relevant planning legislation, particularly the Planning Act 2016 and Planning Regulation 2017.
Strong understanding of Planning Schemes across local governments in Queensland.
High quality report writing abilities.
Understanding of Building Act 1975 and building provisions (i.e. Queensland Development) preferred but not mandatory.
Experience assessing or preparing development applications will be well regarded.
A salary package commensurate with experience will be negotiated with the selected candidate.

One of our amazing staff members, Declan Drumm has recently obtained Charted Building Control Accreditation with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

The Certificate of Accreditation is confirmation that you have the competence, ethical standing and up-to-date knowledge needed to act as a building certifier with RICS.

The RICS Accreditation Standards Body for Queensland is a body approved by the Department of Housing and Public Works to assess the educational qualifications, experience, competence and continuing professional development of applicants wishing to gain or renew their Certificate of Accreditation in Queensland.

Declan is now continuing his studies by working towards obtaining Level one Accreditation as a Building Certifier with RICS.
