The IF International Youth Group invites Youth with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH) to the International Youth SBH Meeting: Independent Living In Your Eyes on Thursday, August 11 2022 at 2PM Brussels time.

This is 10:00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) 🕗

✅ Who is it for?

All youth with SBH who:
Are interested in the topic of independent living
Would like to share what independent living means to them and their stories of independence
Join and connect with other youth with SBH all over the world

✅ What is it about?

It is a platform where all youth with SBH can freely share their thoughts and their experiences related to the topic of independent living. It’s also an experience exchange and twinning opportunity for youth with the SBH community, with the participation of 5 strong youth representatives from Africa, Asia, Oceania, Latin America and Europe.

PLAYGROUP - Old McDonald’s Farm 👋

SBH Disability Services Playgroups are a chance for the whole family to have fun, engage with other families in the SBH community, and receive informal therapeutic input.

Each Playgroup session will be engaging, social and will be attended by Social Work and Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy.

The program is suitable for ages 0-5 and siblings are welcome.

Please note: Only one unvaccinated parent/carer/guardian can accompany a child or young person to Playgroup. An accompanying unvaccinated adult must wear a single-use surgical mask and limit their movements to areas where they can physically distance.

📅 When: Friday 22nd July
⏰ Time: from 10 am to 11 am
🐄 Theme: Old McDonald’s Farm
📍 Where: SBH Disability Services. Shop 6, 416 Logan Road, Stones Corner QLD 4120.

🅿️ Parking: The building carpark can be accessed off Montague Street - all parking spots are available for visitors.
There is also parking along Logan Road or in Stones Corner Village where Aldi is located (2 hours free).

Hop off and cross the road to the Ferris Wheel – then follow the Arbor walkway along to the end to the Ship Inn. AGING ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP 👋

SBH Disability Services, as part of the Family wellness project, is providing an online peer network to individuals.

✔️ Are you feeling the effects of getting older?
✔️ Are you facing ‘letting go’ of the life you may have had but can no longer take part in as much or as fully now?
✔️ Do you find yourself asking “is this fatigue, memory issues, physical deterioration, pain a part of ageing with SB – or is this just a normal part of getting older?”
✔️ Do you have ‘fear of the unknown’ because of being in one of the first generations of older survivors with spina bifida?
✔️ Would you like to get together with others who may also have the same thoughts?
SBH Disability Services as part of the Family Wellness Project, is providing an opportunity to provide a peer network as A place to go, learn interesting facts, connect with others who have faced or are facing the same barriers or successes that you are.

ONLINE HYDROCEPHALUS GROUP 👋

SBH Disability Services, as part of the Family Wellness Project, is providing a peer network to individuals and their families who have Hydrocephalus only.

A place to go, learn interesting facts, connect with others who have faced or are facing the same barriers or successes that you are. A space to continue to share ideas and help develop resources to be more informative and inclusive of the condition Hydrocephalus.

A place to celebrate all things Hydro!

Through regular monthly online meet ups we aim to create a community of support for those who have wanted to connect, however not known how.
