BLUE HOPE

Fat Nancy's Car Club held its annual Bronze by the Lake charity car event at Lakeside Park Raceway yesterday to honour the memory of the late Senior Constable Dave Masters, and to raise much needed funds for a number of charities including BLUEHOPE.

The BLUEHOPE crew were there to keep hungry car enthusiasts fed, and despite serving around 350 sausages on bread, the "onion on top or bottom" debate remains unresolved.

A nostalgic trip down memory lane, and just a great day for like-minded individuals to come together and appreciate some motor industry history, all whilst supporting some great causes.

For those of you that follow State of Origin, you will know exactly what we are talking about.

For those that don't, well put it this way, two hard nuts going at each other in the rain and mud during the second origin match in 1991. NSW won that match, but Qld won the series.

35 years later, Wally and MG are at it again, this time the loser gets a pie in the face to raise funds for Emerge & See NSW & ACT, BLUE HOPE and us.

At the conclusion of this years series, whoever has the most money pledged to them, they get to pie the other!

Emerge & See are NSW based so they are on Team MG.

Blue Hope are Queensland based so they are on Team Wally.

The South Eastern Region Wellbeing office hosted a Sworn officer & Police Liaison Officer Reflection and Growth Day at the Volunteer Marine Rescue Centre on the Gold Coast today. 75 PLO's and police officers, primarily those involved in Crime Prevention and Cultural Liaison roles partook in a positive and productive day involving a range of wellbeing activities. BLUEHOPE was invited to provide lunch, and a small part of our team in Brad and Heidi whipped up some burgers for the troops. They had a little help from Mitch and Macca in the burger prep, but a special shout out to the Volunteers in Policing (VIP's) whose experience in catering events is second to none. No one from BLUEHOPE was getting near the service table, and the VIP's took the burgers to the next level bringing along beetroot , avo, onion and pickles to really "fancy things up." After the VIP's had cleaned everything up after lunch it was unanimously decided they're welcome on any future road trips 😊 Brad also had the opportunity to have a quick chat to the attendees on managing mental health, accessing support options, all with our usual message of " please speak up" 😊
