An incredibly successful weekend for TRC at the Head of the Yarra. The most successful club of the regatta with an impressive 5 wins, the biggest number of QLD crews entered with 12 crews, many top 3 finishes and a whole lot of fun!

On Saturday night past the TRC family chucked the zooties in the laundry (we hope!) and dusted off the blazers for the annual awards and boat naming ceremony.

We are pleased to to welcome into our fleet our first Filippi 4x/4- which has been named the “Alex Field”. We also recently purchased a second hand Empacher 8+ from a group of private masters ladies at UQBC which has been named “Old Gold” in recognition of our old gold and royal blue club colours.

Awards on the night included:

Most races won masters male: P Jell
Most races won masters female: J Bourne

A women’s 2x and men’s 8+ with coach Simon travelled down to the nations capital this past weekend to take part in the inaugural Canberra Omnium hosted by . The ~35km winds saw racing cancelled on Saturday but both crews had a great hit out in the 7.5km TT on Sunday morning! Thank you to Sarah and for accommodating us, proving boats and oars and to for excellently navigating the men’s 8 down the course!
Looking forward to next year!
