We are extremely proud and excited to announce we are supporting the Stride Outside fundraising challenge this September.

Recent statistics reveal that 8.5 million Australians—43% of the population—have experienced a mental illness at some point in their lives. Research consistently highlights the critical role of outdoor activities in enhancing mental health, offering benefits such as stress reduction, mood improvement, increased creativity, and better cognitive function. These benefits extend into the workplace, where improved mental health can lead to increased productivity, reduced absenteeism, and a more positive work environment.

Ben Hannon, Managing Director at Base says, "When the Stride Outside concept landed on my desk, I was excited to get involved with the challenge. We’ve partnered with Stride for 4 years now and we really value the great work they do for mental health in the community. Looking after the mental wellbeing of our employees is really important in our industry. There are many safety risks with what we do. Looking after the wellbeing of our staff is key to keeping them safe and doing our best work.”

BASE PROJECT // headspace Indooroopilly

This project for Open Minds was specifically designed and constructed for the headspace Indooroopilly Centre.

This space embraces a warm and welcoming vibe, featuring a subtle base palette of timber, grey, white, and hints of black. The soft and homely feel is beautifully accented by the bright branding colours of headspace, which are cleverly incorporated through signage and soft furnishings. The result? A space that’s not only inviting but also instantly recognisable as a headspace Centre.

Spatial planning was a key focus, maximising natural light from the existing windows while accommodating numerous consult rooms and essential amenities. Design elements like VJ paneling, ball lights, and timber-look flooring further enhance the relaxed, homely atmosphere of the centre.

We’re proud to have delivered a space that supports the important work of headspace and provides a comforting environment for the community.
