Belated New Year wishes — and welcome to 2026!

What a way to start the year with this imposing 2026 Hyundai Palisade. I never thought I’d be this excited to work on a Hyundai… but here we are.

The first thing that hits you when this pulls up is: man, this thing is HUGE.

But after a quick drive around the block (once the wash was done and any excess water cleared), it honestly handled like a regular sedan — so smooth, quiet, and effortless. The cabin blocks out the outside world and immerses you in the luxury it oozes.

My dad owns the previous generation Palisade, and I drove that one up from Sydney for a detail and ceramic coating — so I already knew these were great cruisers. But this new version takes it up another level. The interior is seriously well put together.

I’m a massive Toyota fan, but I genuinely struggle to think of a direct Toyota equivalent in this space.

After receiving the Palisade on Friday evening, it was safely parked indoors, the odometer reading was sent through to the owner, and Saturday morning we began the usual OCD treatment.

✅ Exterior Detail

The paint was treated to a full decontamination process:
Deep wash
Clay bar treatment
Air blower dry to chase water out of every hidden spot

✅ Interior Protection

The interior received a full detail including vacuuming and wipe-down of all surfaces, followed by premium protection products:
Gtechniq Australia Smart Fabric for carpets and mats
GYEON Australia Leather Coating for seats and leather trim
303 Products Aerospace Protectant for plastics and interior surfaces

✅ Paint Correction

Paint correction took the most time — especially the bonnet — but we got there in the end.
A combination of Absolute Valeting products, ie Half Cut and Final Cut, paired with Zvizzer Australia & NZ pads, worked an absolute treat.
Last but not least, coated with my favourite, Crystal Serum Light to both protect and enhance the gloss.

A solid 10+ hours went into making this Palisade look better than showroom finish (because let’s be honest… who knows what mass-production products are used before delivery!).

The Palisade was collected by a very excited family, and the kids can now look forward to making memories in this beautiful machine — with that mirror finish shining every step of the way.
