Well done to Rahni Samason on a wonderful game for the Melbourne Vixens.
Mel would be so proud of you.

Melodie Aitken (Mel) was taken way too early from us.
She died on the 11th December 2020.
Aged 45.

I want to express my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends.

I also want to say that when I first met Mel, I meet a most extraordinary person who was a real pleasure to work with.

Mel always accepted any challenges that I gave to her.
From hosting the program Nothing but Net to broadcasting Netball Grand finals to even being part of the call team for Women’s Footy she performed these in a truly professional way.

Mel was always on the same page as me as we both felt it was a privilege to present the show to support Netball and we gave it the respect it deserved.

Together with Hugh their chemistry was enormous.

Mel was a real support to me, and I will never ever forget it.

I thank Bryan and Billy for sharing her with us over many voluntary hours of radio time on air.

Mel, I will never get over the fact you are no longer able to catch up with and talk to but thanks to podcasts I can still hear your marvellous work and that will give me some comfort as I process this major loss in my life.

Be assured you will be forever in my heart.

Rest in Peace my beautiful friend.
