Keen to get into a Singer Project of your own?

One of the connections close to the Singer Project is selling off the last of his Dad's collection, so there's some really impressive kits of 'bits' to get your own project build underway; and they've recently had a price drop.

Links for each of the 2 kits below - tell him we sent you, it might not get you a better deal though!

(We're also not making a cent out of the deal - just making sure the right people see the kits to grab them!)

September, 1980 and the Light Car Club of Australia is hosting the “Hang Ten 400” at Sandown Raceway.

But excitedly for the Chief Wrench-Monkey, his newly finished Singer is out for its first laps on a race track. 4 laps for Groups J and K (and just quietly, check out the names !)

I’m still 18 months away from even being born too! (That’ll make him feel old!)

But this weekend, we’re back there again. The Chief Wrench-Monkey is a bit older, I’m now older than he was when he ran the car there that day; but the car is the same, with a slightly newer party dress than it wore on that first go round.

Looking forward to some fun out on track at the sandownrevival

Come say hi if you get along!

That’s this weekend!

We’ll be there on Sunday-so come along and say hi if you’re out there!

MT TARRENGOWER HISTORIC HILLCLIMB – est. 1928
Around this time every year, Maldon starts preparing for the arrival of vintage and classic cars and motorcycles that are registered for the Tarrengower Hillclimb. This year’s hillclimb is on October 18 and 19, based at Butts Reserve, Maldon.
This hillclimb is one of the oldest surviving hillclimbs in Australia and the longest, being 1.5 km long.
Photo - locals, Keith and Myra Laity, probably in 1939, when Keith won the fastest time of the day in his Ford v8 at 1 minute 52 and 1/5 seconds.

It’s nearly time to get excited about Historic Winton!! One of the best historic Motorsport weekends on the calendar. A massive field of cars, and the chance to walk the paddock and get amongst them all, talk to the drivers, and smell the race fuel, oil (and perhaps the lies of the drivers!)

In honour of dusting off the Le Mans for another go around, we’ve dusted off the archives for a bit of a “Who wears it better?” Same car, same number; new party dress (that it’s had since about 1990!)

I reckon the Chief Wrench-Monkey might have me by some account of the bristling moustache and the open face lid though!
