George Gilmour Printmaker

After a chance discussion with art dealer friend Gopesh Bhatt in India recently I’ve reiterated the “My Mantra” project following discussions with an art dealer in India. Starting with seven plates for the Bija Mantras related to the chakras, the works are larger, four colours plus the line blocks… I’ll be carving, carving, carving 😜 The idea is to suggest Indian references without cultural misappropriation and with a vibrant stained glass type feel. With 4 colours in each print plus the line blocks it will keep me busy for quite a while!!! I’m still thinking about what print techniques to use and where. I’ve also got to think about my MI-LAB Residency project in October but I’ve got a bit of time for that still. GG Ciao for now! 🧡
