Totally ‘blown away’ by the festivities at Barangaroo on Sunday. Apart from having a catastrophic hair day, it was mind-blowing to see so many fellow kid-lit fanatics in the one place. A belated, but heartfelt, shoutout to the . Eighty years young, the CBCA continues to inspire children in reading high-quality Australian books, provide professional development for authors, illustrators and teacher-librarians alike through local network meetings, and give a much-needed profile to creators for children. The foresight of Margaret Hamilton and Maurice Saxby cannot be underestimated, and neither can the army of volunteers serving the network groups across Australia. Happy 80th birthday ! 🎉🎉🎉
