We were proud to mark with a special morning tea at our Western Hub, bringing staff together to celebrate this year’s theme: 50 Years of Deadly ⚫🟡🔴
Marking five decades of the movement, the theme celebrates the strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while honouring the generations of Elders, organisers, artists, activists, and communities who have shaped its legacy.
We were grateful to hear from our First Nations Cultural Advisor, Clyde, who reflected on the significance of NAIDOC Week and AnglicareSA’s ongoing commitment to embedding culture across our services.
We were also honoured to receive a Welcome to Country from Uncle Micky, hear from Troy from our Foster Care team about supporting First Nations children to strengthen their cultural identity, and listen to Dominic, our Executive General Manager of Social Enterprise, reflect on AnglicareSA's involvement in Reconciliation in the West.
Thank you to Something Wild for once again providing a delicious spread of native-inspired catering.
As we celebrate 50 Years of Deadly, we recognise that meaningful reconciliation is built through listening, learning, and walking alongside First Nations peoples every day 💙
