ABOUT THE SONG:
Well the Summer of 2020 is here but still dear to our hearts was the Summer of ’75, the year we left High School and came of age. We embraced our new found freedom and the sounds of those years still resonate with us with this song.

From Pondalowie to the Nullarbor
Cactus waves I'd never seen before

From the shed to the stage, the bands were raw
The greatest rock I'd never heard before
Chisel, Rudd, Daddy Cool you were my friends.

We lived our lives in overdrive
Campfires on the beach till morning light.

Tangled hair stung by the sun
Panel vans lines up for fun
Moana silver sands you were my friends

When mates of mine were mates I knew,
Guitar and keys, played a gig or two

ABOUT THE SONG
As I move through this stage of my life, I’ve come to learn that everyone has a story . . . sadly. There’s some of my own story in “Days”. But what I’ve also learned, is that whilst we struggle to make sense of tragedy, we can use those experiences to be grateful and when happiness and love do stand before us, reach out with unbridled embrace. Don’t squander the good times, as it’s offensive to the bad times. So now . . . “I dare to breathe deeper than I did then. I see, I hear, I feel, I touch, I breathe today”.
LYRICS
INTRODUCTION:
VERSE 1:
I was in my story, my beautiful story…We had imaginings, opportunities were happening
The magic now has gone; no dancing the music’s died…Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
CHORUS 1:
Nobody told me there’d be days like these….Nobody told me there’d be days like these
Nobody told me, Nobody told me, Days like these
VERSE 2:
Waters calm the skies are clear, The gentle breeze without a fear
Horizon black, it’s over there, it can’t reach me it wouldn’t dare
But now the tide has turned on me, Well I’m drowning and it’s hard to breathe
You have control it’s now my turn, what lessons do I need to learn?
CHORUS 2:
Nobody told me there’d be days like these….Nobody told me there’d be days like these
Nobody told me, Nobody told me, Days like these
BRIDGE:
The music died, I was black inside … I’m drowning and it’s hard to breathe…Yesterday was good to me
But days like these they’re meant to be…They make you feel, they make you see
Then I touched the sound I heard you again…Now I dare to breathe, deeper than I did then
I see, I hear, I feel, I touch, I breathe today
GUITAR SOLO :
VERSE 3:
I was in my story, my beautiful story….We had imaginings, opportunities were happening
The magic now has gone; no dancing the music’s died….Nowhere to run nowhere to hide
CHORUS 3:
Nobody told me there’d be days like these…Nobody told me there’d be days like these
Nobody told me…Nobody told me….Days like…Days like…Days like these
