🎭 **Voice tension alert!** 🎭

Did you know that muscle tension around your neck, throat, and even other parts of your body can cause voice tension? 😬 Whether you’re a singer, actor, teacher, or even someone whose work doesn’t require much speaking but communication with family and friends is troublesome, muscle and fascial tightness (connective tissue) can affect how your voice sounds and feels.

When fascia or muscles in the neck, shoulders, jaw, your back or other areas of your body are tense or or weak (including “core musculature”, it can create strain on your vocal cords, leading to:
- Hoarseness and vocal fatigue
- Limited vocal range
- Shaky or strained sound
- Tightness or discomfort when speaking or singing

Performers and teachers are especially at risk, but so are those who don’t use their voice often for work. Even sitting at a desk all day can lead to tension in areas that impact how you speak! The body’s stress and posture can play a big role in voice strain.

💡 Here’s how to help:
- Stretch and release tension in your neck, shoulders, and jaw
- Hydrate (your vocal cords love water!)
- Focus on good posture to avoid unnecessary strain
- Breathe deeply and practice relaxation techniques

At Bodycentric, our vocal Physiotherapist works with you to remove tension throughout the body that contributes to vocal strain. We treat the body as a whole, ensuring your voice stays strong and healthy. When we’re back, we’d love to continue to assist you with your vocal tension! 🙌
