Hobbledehoy
We proudly represent recordings from forward-thinkers including Sophie Hutchings, Caspian, Deafcult, and more. From day one, the focus has been on providing forward-thinking artists with a collaborative partner sharing their vision, helping them build equity and retain ownership of their work. Working with only a small group of artists allows us to focus on the finer details, affording the artist freedom and room to develop — on their own terms.

We’re very proud to announce Holly Throsby’s new album, Normal Magic.
Pre-orders are open now.
There are records you work on because they fit the catalogue, and then there are records that quietly remind you why the label exists in the first place. This feels like one of those.
Holly’s songs have a way of making the small things feel enormous... a waiting room, a memory, a friendship, a passing thought, a quiet kind of heartbreak. Normal Magic feels full of those moments: strange, tender, funny, moving, and unmistakably Holly.
Today she shares the new single Hold Please, featuring the wonderful Laura Jean. It’s the latest song from the record and a beautiful window into where this album lives.
To everyone who has followed this label through quiet records, careful songs, and artists who take their time... this one is very much for you.
Normal Magic is available to pre-order now on vinyl, CD and digital via Hobbledehoy. And a limited Sweatshirt, which is just pure joy.
Listen to Hold Please today. Pre-order Normal Magic now.

The Remotes 'Ready For It' is their first album in 28 years, which is a wild and wonderful thing to say out loud. But that isn’t the whole story, or even the best part of it.
What we love most is that it doesn’t feel like a comeback record. It doesn’t sound like a band trying to squeeze back into an old jacket. It sounds like two people finding the same thread again... a little older, maybe a little stranger, but still with that quiet spark intact. Then bringing a friend into the fold (Laura MacFarlane!), writing more, and making a very special, personal record together.
There’s something really lovely about that.
Songs can wait. Friendships can stretch across decades. A small melody can sit somewhere in the back of your mind for half a lifetime and still know how to get home.
We wanted to release Ready For It because it feels like the kind of record that should exist in the world properly. Warm, understated, melodic, gently odd and full of feeling.
For fans of The Go-Betweens, Art of Fighting, The Lucksmiths, The Bats, and quietly strange Australian guitar pop that knows the long way home.

Close to a decade ago, I very cautiously reached out to Sophie Hutchings . That message became a friendship, and a working relationship across three releases.
There is still a strange vulnerability in asking to be invited into someone else’s artistic world. Even after nearly 20 years of running this label, it never feels casual. It probably shouldn’t. And Sophie’s music felt unlike anyone else’s. Distinctly her own. You can hear the opposing wind. The crashing waves. The stillness.
At the time, the label was moving quickly. Simultaneous preparation of Deafcult and Brief Habits debut albums, months away from release. I was very much done with my day job, and would shortly quit without another lined up. (Pro tip: do not recommend.) I was also about to become a dad for the first time. All of this was happening inside of a couple of weeks in February 2017.
But I reached out. By the end of the next month, newly and momentarily unemployed, I was helping release Sophie Hutchings’ album Yonder through Hobbledehoy. The small acts of faith that somehow became real things.
Erin, Sophie, and everyone else who trusted me then, thank you.
Start with Yonder.
