Almost any dog (or person for that matter) can take part in Sled Dog racing, with the most popular breeds being Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, as well as Akitas, Samoyeds, Setters, Pointers, Weimaraners, German Shepherds and mixed breeds of all sorts. A dog that is difficult to handle or cannot get along with his mates renders him unsuitable as a racing team dog.
