I think we should have a Southern Hemisphere National Shell Day, starting with today, (remember the US is a day behind!). Then I think every day should be a National Shell day!! What do you think?

We were delighted to welcome award-winning Australian/French underwater photographer Vanessa Mignon to the Rodney Fox & Mark Tozer Museum and Research Centre this week.

Vanessa is highly respected within the underwater photography world, with her stunning images published internationally and recognised through numerous awards.

Mark has had the pleasure of knowing Vanessa for several years, making it especially enjoyable to personally guide her through the museum.
During her visit, Mark showcased many of the museum's newest exhibits, sharing the stories behind the collection and some of the latest additions that continue to inspire visitors to appreciate and protect our oceans.

Hi everyone

Just a quick reminder of the dates for those planning or thinking about planning visits to the Townsville or Keppel Bay Shell Shows (or both) this year. See the flyer below.

Also please note that accommodation is always tight in both places in July so don't leave it too late to book. Finally, you might want to know that low tides are excellent in the week between the two Shows (e,g 0.16 to 0.36 at Bowen, Monday to Thursday).

If you plan to attend it would help if you could let the organisers know nice and early, especially if you will be submitting entries or would like a sales table.
