Connecting with Community - a workshop with Dr Angela Amado We all need people in our lives. For many people with intellectual disability, friendship and connection is still missing.
Did you relate to Deidreâs words? Her quest to mobilise a group of trusted people to support Richard and continue âbusiness as usualâ when she no longer can, is very much aligned with the work we do facilitating Circles of Support.
A Circle of Support brings together a small network of trusted people to support a person living with disability to pursue a good life with:
1. People who look out for you
2. People who help you to make decisions
3. People who arenât paid to be there
4. People who step into safeguarding roles.
