Have you ever wondered 🤔... Why is Autolinc spelt with a C?

Lincoln Rowe — my Grandpa — was the General Manager of one of South Australia’s biggest engineering companies, Perry Engineering at Mile End. At its peak, Perry employed close to 1,500 people and helped shape some of Adelaide’s most iconic landmarks: the Uni Bridge over the Torrens, the Birkenhead Bridge at Port Adelaide, and even the fence around Prince Alfred College.

Later in his career, while working for the government, he played a key role in creating Technology Park at Mawson Lakes.

Because of his success, Grandpa wanted to give my brother and me the best opportunities. He sent us both to Prince Alfred College, and he invested money for each of us that we couldn’t access until we were 25.

I used that money to buy my business — Autolinc. I was only six when he passed away in 1995, but to honour his legacy I named my business after him, shortening Lincoln to Linc.

And that’s why Autolinc is spelt with a C.
