And without further Ado. This absolute legend and superstar Em Tanzer, our Adelaide Queen..👸
PB, 173km
Absolutely brilliant running, I'm so proud of the enormity of your achievement, and the day's you logged km after km, Strength sessions and recovery days. In between full time shift work, Dealing with the "butt" pain and practising better nutrition.
😍
Build strength and capacity, add the endurance and consistency. Repeat, repeat, repeat.
Watch out for the winner 🏆
Now Easter break has passed and we're focussed again, I just thought I'd do a huge shout out to this legend Em, who quietly went about her business week in week out, navigating a crazy work schedule to sneak away with a 1st place on her "training run".
I Love what I do.. when it's loved so much by you.
Get out there and achieve your best.
It's not always how you planned or thought.
Somedays are just plain hard. You're tired, your body isn't responding the way it used to. You feel let down by it and don't always know how to manage it.
Step 1. Starr by moving gently when you can.
Step 2. Get out in nature, feel the sun on your skin
Step 3. Be focused on what you can do, not what you can't or used to.
Step 4. Hit those downhills with gusto and feel the wind beneath your wings.
Step 5. Feel proud of listening to your body.
Refuel, Hydrate and Rest.
Every day is worth it, make it count. Even if it's a rest day.
I cannot believe tbis happened.
Now the pain is gone it Feels sureal.
Already over 6 weeks ago, battling gale force wind and never ending mud, climbs and the unrelenting banter in my head on how amazing the scenery is but also how quite frankly, I'd had enough. I felt unsettled, out of my depth and my knee had also decided it could no longer survive the constant sliding and slipping.
What I have come to realise is I still achieved something massive.
Something beyond what I have done before in terrain and weather nothing like home.
We always underestimate ourselves, put huge pressure on performance that we can miss the importance of what we achieve.
The time we put into training, getting up early, missing out on things.
Celebrate it all... You're doing amazing.
