Debaters from across Adelaide took to the floor for another fantastic evening of thoughtful arguments, confident speeches, strategic rebuttal, and impressive teamwork.

It has been wonderful to see students continuing to challenge themselves, support one another, and grow in confidence throughout the competition season.

A huge thank you to Mercedes College for hosting, and to all of the adjudicators, coaches, teachers, volunteers, and students who helped make the evening such a success.

Hosted at schools across Adelaide, Round 1 saw students deliver sharp arguments, confident speeches, clever rebuttal, and outstanding teamwork. From first-time debaters to experienced speakers, the energy in every room was fantastic to see.

A huge thank you to our adjudicators, coaches, teachers, volunteers, and host schools for making the first round such a success — and of course to all the students who brought the passion, preparation, and debating spirit.
