She was 10 years old, and she already understood something most of us take a life time to learn. 🌱
When Ruby's class headed off to a 2 day aquatics camp at West Beach, a few kids were left behind. They couldn't afford to go. And when Ruby came home, that's what she talked about. Not the fun, not the water, not the excitement. The three kids who missed out. 🛶
Without being asked, Ruby went to her teacher and her principal with her mum by her side. Could she use her birthday money to make sure nobody missed out next time? She asked. 💛
That quiet, determined act of care says everything about who Ruby was.
We still feel her presence every single day. And we still feel her expectation. To notice. to look outwardly and care and to act. To make sure no child is ever left behind. 🌟
