This set of photos is from my Wedding Day almost 8 years ago now. We shirked a lot of traditions, including not seeing each other before the Wedding. We had lived together for 10 years before getting married and so it felt weird not sleeping in the same bed the night before such a big day. We then went away and got ready with our respective bridal party members and then did a first look shoot. It made the day so much more relaxed and meant we could get some fun photos before the Wedding with our bridal party and could jump straight into the party after the Ceremony.

I encourage all my couples to think about what will make them comfortable on the day and not just follow the Wedding template. A lot of traditions heralded from a different era and are irrelevant now, so think about what you want your day to look like and go with what you know you will look back on and think, I'm glad we did it our way.

I recently had the pleasure of being shown around Beaumont House by their super lovely Venue Coordinator Courtney. There is a lot to love about this dry hire venue, with heaps of options to set the scene for a very fancy DIY wedding.

Best bits:
1. Option to use the lawn or set up a marquee in the courtyard for your reception
2. It’s dry hire so can save you money and means more flexibility of options
3. Lots of parking
4. Close to the CBD
5. Beautiful grounds

This is a venue where an On The Day Coordinator is a brilliant stress-free option as they can look after all the vendor arrivals, set up styling and make sure everything is packed up at the end of the evening. Checkout my new OTD packages for options to suit all needs and budgets.
