Acacia Ridge Football Club

Acacia Ridge FQPL took on Pine Rivers FC and after a hard fought game fell short with a 1-3 loss. With a number of players unavailable with injury or unavailability over half the starting team was U23's players stepping up to the challenge and proving themselves ready to play at this level. We started with 3 seventeen year olds in the starting lineup and a 4th on the bench it was one of the youngest starting teams ever fielded at home in the past decade. Highlights from the game was a rocket of a goal and goal of the year contender from 30 yards by Abdul Niyomungere and a stellar defensive effort by 17 year old man of match Callum O'Connor.

Our FQPL U23's played at home V QUT FC. In what was a tight game our boys went down 0-1 to a scrappy goal. Better composure in front of goals might have seen us come away with a win but overall it was a very good performance by the team. The stand outs were our players of the week, veteran CB Jono Valentine and our versatile midfielder Muhyadin who picks up this honour for the 2nd match in a row.
