ROSA KARL

November 2021 I started a commissioned mix series with people I truly admire. Music has always been a big part of my identity and of what I do. As much as I love hair and the salon, I also love music — the way it shapes moods, holds space, and shifts how we feel. So I wanted to share that by inviting people from all sorts of fields to put together a journey for us — a mix or playlist we can play while working.

What I look for is music that makes you want to listen, let go, move, and dive in. Something that can carry you completely, or just stay in the background and gently colour the room.

For this edition I once again asked a long-time favourite, Carsten Jost (Dial). The request was simple and open: somewhere between ambient and a personal journey. A mix that builds slowly, shifts, and surprises. Music for the salon during the day, and for those moments when you just want to drift, sway, and lose yourself.

What came back was exactly that.
