By the way, this is how the legal 35°C rule works in Vienna for Fiakers:
In the city center, near the Opera, there is an official thermometer operated by GeoSphere Austria that we are required to follow. There’s a dedicated website where the temperature is updated every five minutes. 🐴
As soon as that thermometer reaches 35°C, all horse-drawn carriages (Fiakers) must stop operating and return to their stables, meaning their day is over. Even if it starts raining later and the temperature drops again, they are not allowed to resume service. The 35 degrees Celsius are measured in the shade, just like everywhere else in the world….
So on days like that, it wouldn’t even be possible to operate in the evening, because the regulations for Fiakers simply don’t allow it.
